Succeed at Rings AND Sng's ?

Can you be a successful player at both rings and SNG/Tournies?..... Most stuff I read suggests most players are good/competent/comfortable at one or the other but not both.
I'm now finding success at both.. Have won or placed in 6 of the last 8 sng's I've played, and have been having success at low NL 9 player tables as well.
I've found the key ingredient is patience, patience, patience. Wait for the right hand then go hard at it. The other key is to set a time limit (say 1 hour at the table) then leave.
So, far on average I'm winning around on average $20 -$25 a night over an hours play. I'm comfortable at the level I'm playing (10-20 cent NL). This compares favourably to winning $22.50 (Less $5.50 buy in for a 9 player SNG), which can take considerably longer !

I think is is possible to be successful at both, but you have to be able to adjust your play accordingly. Personally, I prefer Cash Games!

I voted not sure ... but I made more money easily at live cash games than live tourneys ....

On Internet, I always lose all my money at cash games, so I prefer tourney!!

I tend to make pretty decent money at cash games online when i play a couple tables a night for a few hours at least. It tends to be enough to keep my rolll padded and let me keep buyin into the tournaments.....IMO those are where the real moneys at. i voted yes, and i definatly agree that patience is definatly a big part of it....well that and not having nicci's luck :P

you have to define your definition of the word "success"

good point. I guess it varies from player to player, but i guess most can agree that "success" could be considered not having to throw in deposit after deposit every other week.... :P
