I foolishly stepped up with some of the big boys tonight and put virtually my entire bankroll at risk... stupid, YES! but... what a rush... I decided to sit in a $300-$600 limit omaha hi/lo game with $6000... I got up shortly after this hand, which I was shaking over for a few minutes (I'm the "hero")... by far the most $ I've scopped in a cash game pot:

Nice hand
I've discovered that as you progress higher in limits... players act uber-aggressive (especially shorthanded, and this was a 6-person table). Therefore, you need to be willing to sometimes call/bet/and raise with hands that are well less than the nuts... but you have to pick and choose your spots......

him calling my re-raise preflop was easy... he's calling $300 more into a pot of $1500. in omaha, very rarely will any one hand be a super favorite against any other preflop...

calling my flop bet, I think he was assuming I was just continuation betting (which I would have done regardless if I had hit the flop or not). it actually wasn't too terrible of a flop for him. Any 3 or 7 gives him a straight... or an ace would give him the 2nd nut low. heck, he may even think his 24 would've been good for low if he put me on high cards like AKQJ. Definitely not worth folding for a $300 bet into a $2100 pot.

the turn... obviously my dream card... I thought briefly about firing another shot, but decided to check instead... by checking, I exposed myself to a possible chop of the pot if an A or a 2 peeled off on the river. Without knowing his cards, there was a 6 in 44 chance of that happening, roughly 15% (without pulling out a calculator). My line of thinking was... if I bet the turn, maybe he just folds... sure, I scoop the pot for a $1200 profit... but I was also convinced that if I checked the turn, he was going to fire out on the river no matter what hit (as I said, these people are uber-aggressive, and I figured my check on the turn would signal to him that my flop bet was indeed just a continuation bet and that I was weak, inducing him into a bet on the river...). So I was risking losing a $1200 profit to a 15% chance, in an attempt to gain an additional $600 profit to an 85% chance...

As it turned out, that was one of the best river cards I could've hoped for, as it made his straight... so not only did I squeeze out his $600 bet on the river, but I also got an additional $600 on top of that because he now had a hand to call my raise on the river with...

Seems like you thought through that one well. But be careful playing 6k at a table where others have 20+!!! I guess you know that already.

Nothing huge, just a fun one here because it was against Gavin Smith. 3 handed so I was trying to a blind steal from the button, then wound up with a pretty good flop with nut low draw and open ended straight draw... but it was a good flop for Gavin as well... top two pair and 2nd low draw... Turn was perfect, obviously, hitting my straight and low... river was a blank...
