I don't think that change is possible with your current system of government (and let me assure you here that the Canadian one is only marginally better - our special interest lobbying isn't quite as blatant). People don't get the government they deserve; they get only the government that is allowed by the system that the politicians work within.

Scotty was a player in that system; he didn't quit when he was asked to do very shady things (unlike, oh, say Colin Powell), but is writing a tell-all book to distance himself from the muck he rolled in for years now that the winds of change are blowing. If I believed for a second this was some kind of change of heart and atonement for him, I would applaud him, but I don't.

I was behind the Iraq invasion and still believe it was a good choice. The people of Iraq have not chosen to work on making there lives better. Or tried to live in a normal way. Its obvious all they know is fighting and make no effort at peace with each other. So its time to pull out and let there civil war decide itself. If the terrorists move in there. As they probably will. Then we need to bomb them from the air. I believe us being over there has kept most of the terrorists busy. Not allowing them extra down time to plan there next 9/11.JMO I'd rather bring the fight to them. The best defense is always a good offense!!

a previous post.

I don't believe (after following this story carefully)
that a man of McClellan's intense dedication would
turn around and become a turn coat for a few mill.

So to answer your question about UFOs I have not
researched honorable men who say they have witnessed
a sighting as intensively, granted.
I simply choose to rely on the scientific community
to confirm it for me, that's all.

MANY were behind the war. The longer and longer it went. People changed there original decisions on the matter.JMO I tried to join the marines during the first gulf war. If we know there are terrorists on the 16th floor of an apartment complex. Well send some strike force up to the 16h floor to try and root them out. We'll get some of them along with casualties of our own. Or they'll of known we were coming and be gone when we get there. The Israelies on the other hand will fly in there with apache helicopters and blow up the 16th floor not giving a shit about the 15th and 17th floors. Thats why they win. Plain and simple!! But were too damn worried what the international community will say when the innocent die. The innocent need to die to win war in any area where there are enemy and civilians. The civilians need to be crushed also. That will change the civilians minds in a hurry about turning the blind eye to there terrorist neighbors.

CC I understand where your coming from. War isn't pretty and were trying to grow a flower. I agree its been time to pull out for a long while. We wont do what it takes to win. Along with the fact the people of the country won't do there part to make the country stable.
