Bush Slammed!!
After 7 years of loyalty, McClellan accuses Bush and his administration
of lies, deception and propaganda! What is so striking is that this does not come from the liberal press but FROM THE INSIDE!! Over 4,000 lives lost because these cowards wanted to flex their fookin muscles in an area of the world they had no business being in. My fervent hope is that these clowns will be indicted and taken to task the day after Obama takes office. The Executive Branch either works FOR the people or AGAINST the people. Let this go , let Executive Privilege shield them from testifying and show disrespect for everything your founding fathers worked so hard for. Over 4,000 lives!! Ex-press aide writes Bush misled U.S. on Iraq [/b] McClellan says in new book that White House used propaganda to sell war By Michael D. Shear updated 12:57 a.m. ET, Wed., May. 28, 2008![]() Former White House press secretary Scott McClellan writes in a new memoir that the Iraq war was sold to the American people with a sophisticated "political propaganda campaign" led by President Bush and aimed at "manipulating sources of public opinion" and "downplaying the major reason for going to war." McClellan includes the charges in a 341-page book, "What Happened: Inside the Bush White House and Washington's Culture of Deception," that delivers a harsh look at the White House and the man he served for close to a decade. He describes Bush as demonstrating a "lack of inquisitiveness," says the White House operated in "permanent campaign" mode, and admits to having been deceived by some in the president's inner circle about the leak of a CIA operative's name. The book, coming from a man who was a tight-lipped defender of administration aides and policy, is certain to give fuel to critics of the administration, and McClellan has harsh words for many of his past colleagues. He accuses former White House adviser Karl Rove of misleading him about his role in the CIA case. He describes Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice as being deft at deflecting blame, and he calls Vice President Cheney "the magic man" who steered policy behind the scenes while leaving no fingerprints.

His words mean nothing now other than to make money. What does it say about him that if what he says is true and he felt that way at that time, he did not resign from his job?
I hope he enjoys the money he now stands to make. |

That maybe so Lucas but he looses credibility with me, not that it matters, for not speaking out at that time and only doing so now to sell books.

It's no secret that the war in Iraq was a sales job. It had to have support or it would not fly. What was the real reason??? Who knows, but if Bush and the powers that be thought it was going to be a tough sell is it any wonder they hyped issues that would make it easier to do what they thought had to be done.
For the record, I don't think it was just simple muscle flexing...I could speculate about a few reasons that actually make sense...but like I said above, who really knows??

The reality is anyone in that position is a manure salesman. If it wasn't him telling the lies then it would've been someone else. In my opinion he's just another jackass to hop aboard the "Hey, this war sucks" bandwagon. He's just 5 years late.

LOL, no doubt. I don't begrudge him, or anyone else, one bit for wanting to make money. It's just the timing and the way he is going about it the makes me say BS. It would be different if he gave his resignation at the time and came out against the war. This is chickenshit to me. Other than Bush haters, I do not see who would really want to buy the book.
