My mom was on the Greyhound coming from Saskatoon to Calgary the day this happened. She will probably still ride the bus - freak occurrences are just that, freak occurrences.

Apparently there's word today that the assailant also got into some cannibalism, for good measure. That's some fucked up shit!

On the other hand, now that that aberration has happened, it's likely that it won't ever happen on a bus again -- it's probably the safest way to travel at this point!

I don't even know where to start in dismantling the extreme craziness that is the Westboro Baptist Church. Part of me (a large part) just says, "Don't stick your hand in the crazy." That they have any following at all would keep me up nights if I thought about it much.

This is right ... you have much more chance to fall in love on one of these bus than encounter a siko that'll go into some cannibalism over your head!!

And I'm pretty sure you have much more chance to have a car accident going to the grocery than meet one of these siko on a bus ...

In fact, it has nothing to do with the bus ... this shit could happen (wow, what a statement ... hehehe) anywhere .... as far as the guy is hungry .... and a bit angry!!

That's right - driving a car is the most dangerous thing most of do every day, and we don't think twice about it. And that is a real, immediate danger - you can get killed driving home from work just being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and we probably all knew someone to whom this has happened.

Some more recent news - the Westboro Baptist Church protesters won't be allowed into Canada.

"Entering Canada by a U.S. citizen isn't an absolute right, and if you're coming here only to disrupt the social order and to promote what we consider to be bordering on hate crimes or hate language, they shouldn't come into Canada," Martin said.

"We're not going to allow these people to compound the tragedy of the McLean family loss, and Canadians simply won't tolerate these lunatics disrupting what should be a respectful service."

Freedom of speech is not absolute, Martin said.
