What I can imagine is that there will be those that see the irony of the matter and those that see the family doing it's best to maintain itself as a unit. What I am saying is that this matter is likely to be as beneficial to the McCain camp as it is going to be derogatory. But really only the "floaters" can prove that either way. But unfortunately the election itself won't indicate as such because SURELY people vote regarding policies
I assume this got overlooked as most people here tend to swing one way or another.

Hmmmm this could be taken as sexist though I assume that's not the intention. Politics should not have gender or race bias (negative or positive)... well in a hypothetical world at the very least. Have you ever heard of the saying "Best man for the job"? It does actually mean person. So women sticking up for Sarah merely because of the same sex really is NOT on. Which nicely brings me back to my point of

Any Post can be read into, refered to as sexist, racist, or what ever...(yes, you did assume it was not sexist) Standing up for someone has nothing to do with what his/her policies are. If you stand up for some one, has nothing to do with voting for them, but respecting where they came from, what they did with their life..ect...

Then regardless of gender just welcome all to stick up for her for what she has accomplished... and I think many have here. Am I right in thinking one or two have even though they are not "McCainists"?

Wasn't really going to respond... but meh, changed my mind.

I am not that well informed about this case, so forgive any ignorances I'm just going to give my opinion.

It doesn't surprise me to see people judging this girl... seems a common occurence in this forum.

So what if she has fallen pregnant. It happens. She made a mistake. Big deal! Has no one here made mistakes? Gone against what you parents wanted for you? Its all part of growing up, learning from experiences, and that is what we do. When do we ever tend to learn about life experiences through what people tell us? We normally learn things for ourselves.

Ok, so she is the public eye. And? She didn't ask to be. I'm tired of people's expectations on those in the public eye. It is the same with the Princes in the UK... so much is expected of them just because of whom they were born to. Some choose to be in the spotlight such as celebrities, the offspring do not!

I don't think her parents failed just because she got pregnant by accident. The girl is a teenager in the 21st century. You can teach someone all you like, all personalities are different. They will respond differently. There are many more influences in the world than just those of the parents, so if you want to place blame, spread it equally.

I feel sorry for the girl. She is probably marrying the guy because it is what is expected of her. I hope she is doing what she wants to do and not what others are pressurizing her to do.

^^ I doubt Levi is getting into the marriage completely willingly as well - should feel sorry for him too. After all his youth ends here - no more going out getting drunk, screwing around etc.

awwwwwww...so fuzzy wuzzy!

...everything is just hunky dorry....mistakes do happen!

Never mind that her indoctrination by a highly religious family who
preaches 'abstinence' didn't make a dent into her psyche.

Just a witty bitty mistake...that's all!

And....please make comments with out implicating people in the
forum as in: "It doesn't surprise me to see people judging this girl...
seems a common occurence in this forum"

As if we're judgmental and little Miss Fuzzy is so open minded!

When things break down in such an obvious fashion as it did in the
Palin family....people here are free to add their comments without being labeled
'judgmental.'

Naaaaa.. don't worry.....everything is ok....no pressure.... everything
is just as fuzzy as can be!

I am not here making moralistic judgements on anybody... so yeah I am open minded.

Of course people are entitled to give their opinions but people can do so without being judgemental, without giving the impression that their views are the only ones that matter. You have your opinions, I have mine.... eye opener: doesn't make you right, the beauty of opinions.

I find their posts rather amusing...though (and I don't mean this as disrespectful to either) but as a student of psychology, the pairs comments to each other are what I would expect from teenagers in the playground. Two very different personalities that can not walk away from something because they don't want the other to have the last word, not wanting the other to think they have got the upper hand. Neither of them seem able to walk away from a debate and that sort of attitude is most common among teenagers. Again no direspect to Jim or Doug but its just how I see it.

They also remind me of two male lions... somewhat of a penis contest
