I feel sorry for the girl. She is probably marrying the guy because it is what is expected of her. I hope she is doing what she wants to do and not what others are pressurizing her to do.
Ok, so according to this source Levi Johnston to join Palin family at convention the pair were planning on marrying before they found out she was pregnant. I'll keep an open mind as to whether this is true or not or just being said to please the public. If she was in a loving relationship before she fell pregnant, then more respect to her.

Hey, heres a thought... what if the pregnancy was planned... shock horror. well no not really. Children do not have to conform to their parents wishes or their religious beliefs. She is old enough to make her own decisions and as a result of that will learn the consequences. Most of us know that having a child is not the easiest job in the world, and she will soon figure that out the hard way.

Just because Sarah Palin has these certain family views, that does not mean iit is inherent in her daughter. This could actually be good for their campaign... it shows they are human, they make mistakes and guess where all the media attention is.... on them!

Instead of deconstructing and arguing against spaceboy's conjectures,
all I see are unreasonable and traditionalist statements which skirt the
important issues and go further to prove that superficiality reigns.

Of course, I agreed with the positions more often than not, but I really couldn't find the motivation to actively volunteer my time.

If Palin gets elected, I probably stop voting all together. I just can't sit here and watch a woman with ridiculously weak qualifications and who wasn't even smart enough to earn a graduate degree (after needing 3 transfers to finish undergrad, mind you to finally bail out to the University of Fucking Idaho... how smart can she BE?) get propped up into the Vice Presidency by self-serving interest groups that can't possibly think that she's right for the role. She is just an empty shirt with the perfect image that will agree to cater to their every interest and nothing more. Her acceptance speech was filled with half-truths and outright lies, but nobody in the room gave a crap since they knew that she was the golden goose. They cared more about their selfish, single-issue interest than actually putting up a candidate that could be considered respectable in the vaguest respect. She was a mediocre mayor of a one-traffic light low-class dump, and a corrupt governor that did nothing other than further her own career and personal preferences without regard to anything pertaining to her state. I've already lost a lot of passion for my interest in government, and her election will be the final insult that will make me walk away.

The sad part is that there are a lot more Sarah Palins than Hillary Clintons in this country, and Sarah would crush her in a popular vote. The country is spiraling into an economic nightmare and people would seemingly rather amuse themselves with the pleasant distraction of a public figure with whom they can identify and elect someone that can actually address the issue.

Whatthefuckever. I sometimes forget that I live in a country founded by Puritans, where the top TV shows are American Idol and Dancing With The Stars, and where 63% of the population never moves past their high school diplomas.

Open statement to all non-Americans:

Seriously, how pathetic do Americans look right now? Is the rest of world laughing at us, scared of us, or just feel sorry for us? I know that I live here and kind of feel all three at once.

I think the people who discriminate against those two things are in a very minority group. I only know a few people who "hate" homosexuals. I find that while some may not agree with that lifestyle, they respect everyone's right to their own lifestyle.

As far as Christianity is concerned, some people will always discriminate against any religion in any country. It's not just Christianity. There are some Muslims who hate all non-muslims. I don't think you can say only Christianity in that statement, and you certainly can't isolate that only happening in America. It's in every country.

Religion can be debated back and forth, but this country isn't even ready for a gay NFL quarterback let alone a gay President. I wish that Condi Rice would finally come out so Americans can at least realize that a gay person can effectively serve at the level of Sec. of State.

I think I need glasses. Quick! Somebody get me an appointment with an Eye Doctor!!! I thought I just saw Greg call Condi Rice an effective Secretary of State.
