There was a documentary on TV last night about this story and there were so many times the professionals could have stepped in to stop this from happening.
There was ongoing conflict between management of social services in this particular borough and the chief constable of police who was asking them to take baby p in to care and not place him with his mother. There was also a time when baby P was taken to hospital and was covered with brusies. The mother claimed the child fell off the sofa, onto toys and bruised easily. 2 Doctors reported abuse to the duty social worker when blood tests confirmed the child did not have a condition that meant he would bruise easily. Not one social worker visited the child while he was in hospital. The social services department denies receiving any reports from the hospital... there is a surprise. The reporter on last nights show also interviewed a social worker who did not want to be named and said that even if a child was needing protection, if the council didn't have the finances, the case was ignored. That is just disgusting. Another social worker who was interviewed left because she was one social worker who challenged what management said. She said that the council wanted social workers who would do as they say and if they didn't like it, they could leave. One of the councils saying was "its my way or the high way". I find this so disturbing. Ironically, the mother never looked after the child in the evenings... this was left to the boyfriend. The mother would sit online all night playing poker. I god damn hope she weren't a fricking member here. |

^^ No doubt the mother is inadequate and we're not being told the whole truth (human rights) she's boasting as how she'll be out by Christmas, no remorse , no guilt no feelings.
