Another article from today's news: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/16/us...al&oref=slogin

"But before he arrives at the White House, he will probably be forced to sign off [email]. In addition to concerns about e-mail security, he faces the Presidential Records Act, which puts his correspondence in the official record and ultimately up for public review, and the threat of subpoenas. A decision has not been made on whether he could become the first e-mailing president, but aides said that seemed doubtful.

For all the perquisites and power afforded the president, the chief executive of the United States is essentially deprived by law and by culture of some of the very tools that other chief executives depend on to survive and to thrive."

So you see, when one becomes involved in the Oval Office, one loses some rights to privacy, etc. People who are willing fill out the application to become involved in the Oval Office know this, understand it and accept it. It's not like he's sending this out to random Americans.

From what I have read, these questions only require answers to if they could cause embarassment to office if this information is leaked to the public. Such as this question:

""If you have ever sent an electronic communication, including but not limited to an email, text message or instant message, that could suggest a conflict of interest or be a possible source of embarrassment to you, your family or the President-Elect if it were made public, please describe."

This doesn't sound as though Obama wants their life history, just information that if leaked, could cause damage to his party.
who gets to define embarrassment??

as usual with Obama his statements are vague and open to interpretation. is there any circumstance that you can imagine where this could not be applied??

yes i have problems with Obama. i hope for the sake of everyone that i am wrong, but many, many people see his statements and promises as having VERY negative impacts if enacted.

i imagine you see it differently, but making things tougher on those who produce jobs (corporations and "the rich) will lead to job losses and a weaker economy. not only that but raising taxes on the rich typically leads to LOWER tax revenues. imagine that - those with the money work to hide their money and the economy shrinks.

so my "bias" against obama is because of the flaw in his plan.

in many ways i think he is probably capable of being a good president, but if you don't understand the most basic economic realities...you are gonna be in trouble.

then of course there is my dislike for his general belief in spreading the wealth around. sorry, that's not the job of our government.

the U.S. is what it is because of the notion of limited government. you bog down the economy with taxes to support an inflated government and suddenly we are an "undeveloped" nation.

I'm wondering how this got off topic to your basic general complaints about Obama (ad nauseum) and why my two thoughtful responses addressing the actual issue were ignored.

I just talked to my son and he has the application. He doesn't mind the privacy aspect of it at all because he understands the purpose behind it and accepts it. He is, however, not happy with the amount of time it will take to chase down his web presence. He said he'd much rather they did the investigating themselves so he can get on with his work.

By the way, there's a very good chance that my son might be a part of Obama's FCC transition team. I'll let you know how he feels about the application.

Yeah its all normal just like phone tapping, no travel lists, FEMA camps, bankster take over bills, vote fraud, false flag attacks, controlled media, torture camps, illegal wars etc etc....

its all normal so STFU
