It doesn't work very well most people who go to work have had a gutfull of being sucked off of.

The Government dont take from the rich, they generally take from the middle and working class. Maybe your idea of rich is someone with a bit more cash than you.

The average wage in the UK was 29k in 2007 not 15k not far from that 40% rate the "rich" pay

National Insurance is 9% not 3% of the first 36k or so and then reduces to 2% for anything over that amount - disgusting !!

I could rip your post to bits Kazza but I like you so ill leave it at that
I knew that was wrong when I was writing it... and I studied law as for what I was taught at school... I was taught how to spell "nothing" correctly

Who doesn't it work for? Are you saying the tax credits system in this country doesn't work because actually it does. Tax credits and increased child benefits has helped to lift thousands of children out of poverty. This country rewards people for going to work by the tax incentives and because of this has seen more people willing to go to work because they are better off. It has also bought in an incentive for those on income support to return to work.

The government don't take from the rich? I guess it depends on definition of rich. My friends think my partner and I are rich. Not rich, but we certainly are not poor so it would depend on your perception. My partner pays 40% on about a third of his wages.

National Insurance is far more complicated but I have only ever paid 3%

Anyway the point of my post was, and it is in my opinion that the system here works very well... could explain why we get so many immigrants... they know they will get free money.

For all the moaners of having to pay taxes.... they could go live somewhere else, pay for their medical treatment and all the other stuff the people in this country get for free.
