Timmy, do you really think higher taxes will lower the price of oil?? Do you even understand the dynamics of why oil prices have shot up??

And yes, I have lots of ideas on how to lower prices...drilling in the U.S. would help short term, building nuclear power plants and developing alternative energy sources would help in the long run.
That what I don't understand what people don't get. It never hurts the corporations, only the people they claim it will help by raising taxes. The corps always pass on the hike.

You can also include something like Israel bombing an Iranian nuke plant that could cause a rise.

Politicians are so lost when it comes to economic issues, it's frightening. In my distant grad student days, I could fairly put the question, "Why would a tax increase on oil company profits lead to a rise in gasoline prices?" on a freshman economics exam and expect 29 correct answers from 30 students.

In all fairness, President Bush went to a shitty college and business school and probably never learned this crap to begin with.

It does suck with these gas prices though. It takes like $1500 a week to keep my Envirocrusher with a full tank.

Hey, wait a second - those of us living in the oil patch might have an opinion on that!
