Im not sure what to read into it, maybe Iran feel the Anglo American double act is physicaly and politicaly stretched and cant afford to retaliate.

On the other hand they may be convinced of an imminent offensive and are just getting the first punch in so to speak.

I have to say airstrikes look more likely than a ground war.

I think this entire thread is biased and based off the idea that the president is a warmonger and inherently a bad man.

In my personal opinion, which is most likely biased given my upbringing, the Irannies are trying to get america to attack. This idea is based much off the same ideals as the conspiracy theorists throughout america bash George W. The simplicity is, the Irannian government would like a war against america, that they can say we started, because it will pull there peoples minds away from the problems within their own contry, and give them somethign to base strength and decision against.

Much as Hitler used the jews, so could, and likely would, the iranians use america.

Personally, I am pro Bush, and very supportive of him and his decision. I believe there is somethign to be admired in a man who holds to his beliefs and does what he believes is right, not what other people believe to be the proper course.

Terrorism of course comes down to personal beliefs. If what i believe i am doing is right, I am not a terrorist to me, however, to others i am.

There is documented proof of terrorist being used by many many diffrent countries over the years, even by america in the revolutionary war.

If you want to focus on terrorism, why dont people talk about the Irish attacking their fellow irish simply because one side is catholic while the other side is protestant? How often do you see this in the news? Or the muslums in Africa capturing the ethiopian jewish women, and using them as slaves and performing a form of circumcision on them, making them unable to ENJOY sex?

Do you hear about that? No. what do you hear about? The probably lowest loss of life America has ever sustained from a war!

Janus you can comfort yourself in the knowledge that you aren't alone in your delusion. I had a conversation with my brother about a year ago and he started getting really angry, raising his voice, telling me muslims were going to take over the world. I was quite shocked that he would fall for such an obvious propaganda campaign aimed at demonising muslims in order to justify war profiteers fighting for CONTROL of oil in the middle east. Much like the way Hitler demonised the Jews 70 years ago.

Your point about terrorists is well made, as they say, one mans freedom fighter is another mans terrorist, although I think most right thinking people would say killing innocent civillians is just wrong full stop.

actually, yes that is what I am suggesting. The suggestion that we invaded iraq simply for their oil is far more outrageous of an idea to me, but people like to run with it because its whats being shown and easily accessed ( or was when the war began, i dont think they run to much with that idea on mainstream news these days).

The simple fact of the matter is that when it comes to our news, the propaganda does not lie with our president and cheif.

As for the idea of muslims conquering the world, I would never state such an idea, for the idea of a religion attempting to conquer the world is preposterous (take a look at the failure of catholism in that general area). However, it is a proven fact that Suddam Hussein operated under the idea of making one middle eastern country by conquering them all.

But that is neither here nor there. The simple truth is that right now, we have no reason to invade Iran, and until we come up with a good one, it will always be on the horizon, but not attainable.

The invasion of Iraq, though not absolutely neccessary, was justifiable in the fact that we were removing from power a vicious dictator that we, infact, put into power.


And please, be more polite and dont refer to me as suffering from delusions. That may be what made your brother yell at you during your conversation.

You know I think you're on to something, ive been brainwashed into believing we use propaganda. Tony Blair really was "mislead" by some mystery person from mi5 into Invading Iraq.

Setting up permanent military bases with George Bush in the middle east was just the way things panned out.
