I'm just waiting for the day when every Chinese chick in Chinatown and Queens gets an official letter saying:

Dear Chinese-American Chick,

We need you back.

Regards,
China

I'm not very concerned about population control; what we don't control, nature will. Overcrowded conditions usually lead to disease. We should be setting ourselves up for a nice pandemic sometime soon.

As for fluoride in the drinking water, I don't see why you'd include it in a discussion of population control. From this site -
Quote:
Community water fluoridation has proven to be safe through both practical experience and research. The safety of fluorides has been studied more thoroughly than any other public health measure during the past 40 years. Almost 4,000 studies since 1970 have confirmed the benefit and safety of fluorides.
Unless you were some kind of conspiracy nut who thinks everyone is out to get them, it would appear that the concerns about fluoride have been exaggerated.

2 sides to every story...

Hidden Danger in Your Drinking Water and Toothpaste

Quote:
Dr. John Yiamouyiannis examined the raw data from a large study that was conducted by the National Institute for Dental Research (NIDR). He concluded that fluoride did not appear to have any decay preventing success, as there was little difference in the DMFT values (the mean number of decayed, missing or filled teeth) for approximately 40,000 children.

Here is the clip for Ladywrestler click

I only mentioned the flouride Featherlou because its linked to cancer and Stalin and Hitler added it to the water supply to make their work camp colleagues more compliant FACT.

Sodium flouride is a poison that amongst other things effects the brain, why does mass "medication" added to your water supply strike you as a good idea. You want it you so bad go ahead and eat it.

There is no evidence it is good for your teeth, http://www.internethealthlibrary.com So why add it??? how can consuming a chemical poison be good for your teeth?

You think these control freaks care about your teeth?? youd have to be some kind of chemically labotimised nut to think that

It doesn't take much research to find opponents of fluoridation (fyi, motherfunky, if you want your rantings to be taken even a little seriously, you should probably learn to spell the things you're ranting against ), but I'm comfortable with the US FDA and Health Canada both endorsing fluoridation of water, saying that not only is it safe, but it does reduce dental cavities.
The FDA Report:
Quote:
Recommendation for Using Fluoride to Prevent and Control Dental Caries in the U.S. (Centers for Disease Control, 2001):

"Widespread use of fluoride has been a major factor in the decline in the prevalence and severity of dental caries (i.e., tooth decay) in the United States and other economically developed countries. When used appropriately, fluoride is both safe and effective in preventing and controlling dental caries. All U.S. residents are likely exposed to some degree of fluoride, which is available from multiple sources." (Summary section, page 1)
"Continue and extend fluoridation of community drinking water: Community water fluoridation is a safe, effective, and inexpensive way to prevent dental caries. This modality benefits persons in all age groups and of all SES, ...." (Recommendation section, page 24)
Health Canada:
Quote:
Fluorides are chemical compounds, which in nature are found in air, water, soil and almost all foods....Many governments and health organizations, including Health Canada, the Canadian Public Health Association, the Canadian Dental Association, the Canadian Medical Association and the World Health Organization endorse the fluoridation of drinking water to prevent tooth decay.

Fluorides protect tooth enamel against the acids that cause tooth decay. Many studies have shown that fluoridated drinking water greatly reduces the number of cavities in children's teeth.

I don't see what spelling has to do with making a point or being taken seriously. People make typos. Other people have a difficult time with spelling. This doesn't make them "stupid". I know I struggle in the english department. Hence why I picked a field in the opposite direction.

I don't always take MF seriously, but I can assure it has nothing to do with him misspelling a word.

Not to oversimplify the issue, I think that when we look back at this time in history we will remember it as the time that the world started running out of stuff. Water, food, energy sources, the whole deal. Our planet for all of its grandeur is still a fixed number of square miles big, with only a small % of that being arable land. With shortages of everything pretty much exploding in the last five years, you have to wonder if our medical technology that lets people live longer has completely outpaced our environmental technology that lets us support ourselves.
