I tried to watch her speechifying, and as others have pointed out, after the fourth or fifth attack on the Democrats without stating any of her own positions, I'd had enough. I did watch most of Obama's speech, and he did not spend the entire speech attacking his opponents. Of course, that's comparing apples and oranges - maybe Biden's speech will be just as full of ad hominem attacks as Palin's.

What is EVEN SCARIER to me than Sarah Palin's belief in no birth control for married couples and no abortion (even in the case of incest or rape!) is her church's connection to what's called "Joel's Army"...
It’s a movement by radical Dominionists to build an paramilitary organization to prepare to fight to impose a kind of Christian fascism on the world. I mean... this TOTALLY creeps me out! And I can only hope it does u too... Joel’s Army is prophesied to become an Armageddon-ready military force people with a divine mandate to physically impose Christian “dominion” on non-believers. I am quoting here... but please read... Oh, but they will. These are your future Christian terrorists, America. They, their minions, and their silent supporters (Palin?) have no business being anywhere near elected office in this country, much less the second-highest office in the land. Sarah Palin has connections to these people. Her church has connections to these people. Her church believes this way. she did fine. she can get away with being a bit macho b/c of her good looks. Guiliani tanked, maybe to make her look even better?
debate is where the rubber meets the road people. i thought the best line of her speech was the Mayor has responsibilty one. quite effective and rang true to my ears. the line history may well remember, if the GOP wins, could be: “To the most powerful office on earth, [John McCain] would bring the compassion that comes from having once been powerless.” speechwriter should be proud of that line. i can tell you in my OR today a few women had a problem with the tone of her speech - but they still largely like her. i am amazed more hasn't been written about her reaching out to families with disabled children - guess that topic isn't that sexy.

The church thinks its a fight between christians and satan, and as christians our job is to go out into the world (or mobilize as he said) and preach the gospel. There are many of them all over the world already. They are called missionaries. Whoever wrote that article is blowing things out of proportion. It's only one man's opinion on it and he obviously knows NOTHING about it. You can't always believe everything you read, especially when it is mere speculation from a biased bystander who has no clue what he is talking about.
