4 more years of Bush??

Obama and Bush are not so far apart

Quote:
Since Barack Obama incessantly makes the case that a John McCain administration would equate to another Bush term, it's worth looking at just how much Sen. Obama himself is in agreement with the unpopular president.

Does that mean that he, too, would be a repeat of President Bush? If one were to apply his logic, maybe so.

Here are 20 reasons why:

1. Abstinence
2. Affirmative action
3. Budgets
4. Capital punishment
5. Education
6. Economics
7. Energy
8. Faith-based initiatives/fatherhood
9. FISA
10. Gay marriage
11. Global AIDS
12. Health care
13. Middle-class tax cuts
14. Minority homeownership
15. National security
16. Offshore drilling
17. Racial profiling
18. Religion
19. Supreme Court ruling on gun ban
20. Welfare reform
details in the article

who said i was a Bush fan??

i just get stuck arguing for him when the haters attack with their blanket condemnations.

i have many criticisms of Bush, mainly that he spent like a democrat and caved to the liberals far too often.

and the primary reasons i am not for Obama have to do with his tax policy and anti-capitalist views. oh and he has the most liberal voting record in the senate. and he is evasive about his past. and Oprah supports him.

Details in the article, indeed!

i. e., both Obama and Bush are Christians... they thus agree on religion. Great.

i think you miss the larger point...the article is attacking the simplistic linkage of McCain and Bush because they agree on a few things and also have so pretty basic similarities. all this does is point out that even Obama agrees on some policy issues and and also has some basic similarities.

I think you missed his point. He was pointing out that they're both Christians. And here I thought Bush was a Muslum. HMMMMM.

I highly doubt that any two people can disagree 100%. You can always find similar beliefs somewhere. Hell if you dig deep enough you could probably even find similar beliefs between Charles Manson and George W.

I dare say(and I have before) that there are even some things I agree with McCain/Palin on, where I disagree with Obama. I just happen to agree more with Obama. Especially on the issues that mean the most to me.

The best post I have seen you make in quite some time, Frank. You said it all. It is possible for two people quite different to share commonalities. Also, like you, there are some things that are said about the opposing party candidate you might agree with. However, what struck me as "gold" here is your last two comments. 'You just happen to agree more with Obama, especially on the issues that mean the most to you'.

So.... why not see the other side of the equation? Why not respect that perhaps others might identify with the other candidate, especially on issues that mean the most to them?

Personally, I am not thrilled at either candidate. In my opinion, we lost a much better option in one of our Independents. However, I completely respect, you, Greg, Susan, CC, Cyn, and anyone else for thinking Obama would be the best choice between the two, in your opinions. It just doesn't always appear that some of you respect the other side for thinking McCain is the better choice on issues that mean the most to them.

Funny... but it doesn't always appear that some of you respect the other side for thinking that Obama is the better choice on issues that mean the most to them.

I totally respect people's individuality and their beliefs! I think this world would be a boring place if we all looked at it the same.
However, respect goes both ways and I have been appalled by some of the absolute lies and inferences spewed by some ppl around here about Obama.
To my knowledge there haven't been any "lies" being spread about McCain... only the citing of reports in the national news and video interviews.
At any rate, I do enjoy a lively political debate but I always maintain respect for my friends here.

You're right. And I oppologize for any personal remarks I may have made to the good people of L.P.

However, I will not appologize for any personal remarks I've made against McCain/Palin. That is unless they make a public appology for all the personal attacks, lies they've told about, and all the hate mongering they've done to Obama.
