Not sure about your facts tho, when I assisted in groups for incest survivors, only one was not abused by her father, it was her grandfather.

The males are there either for mere procreation and protection (take the big cats: the females not only raise their young but also hunt... the big ol' male just growls a bit when an interloper makes its presence felt ).
