i already knew how my county was voting long before the election. the final tally was over 4-1 for obama. my ""representative", a lefty that makes obama seem centerist, Barbara Lee, gets like 86% of the vote every time and usually nobody else gets over 10%. obama barely hit 80% i guess they didn't think he was liberal enough.

You have to understand that most of those red counties have a very low population. Lots of land, not so many voters. The blue is where the people are, which explains the landslide.

Orange county and the surrounding areas had a difference of only a few points, except for LA county which went for Obama by a large margin.

As a whole, Southern California is far more conservative than Northern California. LA county saw 69% vote for Obama. San Francisco county was 84%, Alameda county 79%, Marin 78%, Sonoma 74%, San Mateo 73%, Santa Clara 70%, Contra Costa 68%. These people up here are brainwashed - it's a group-think orgy. NOBODY should get 84% of the vote. Hell, the most benevolent dictator probably could not get 84% in a free election even if running unopposed.
