True the U.S. (and Canada) are far better places than most of the rest of the world to live in. However, if you believe that this is not despite Bush
and his corrupt administration, I think that you will see later, when the history books have been edited to include his time in office that it wasn't the people
who were dumb.

It's one thing to be a 'Republican' or lean more to the right. I respect that.
It has been your decision made after a lifetime of assessments, but to watch
this administration arrogantly feed the quagmire they themselves have created
is, in my mind, simply naive.

It's one thing to support a sitting administration, it's another to follow it's
obvious ineptness and continue to praise and promote it.

That being said, I am Canadian, I don't presume to know as much as
you Americans, who live the consequences of his actions everyday, but we
have unbiased newspapers here that report the facts. The facts so far, in
my view, have exposed Bush and his administration as substandard. You all
deserve much, much better!

I should state that that, in my honest opinion, that this country is a better place to live DESPITE of Bush.

Bluffman Im sure there's a long list of worse places to live than the US, err Iraq sort of springs to mind.

The thing is doug its all despite Bush, it has more to do with 1776 and the Republic than what the Bush family have turned the GOP into.

Bush and his cronies including our own darling Tony B are nothing more than lying war profiteers. Check out Tony Bs palace in Egypt

How anyone can support a lying warmonger is beyond me

PS I take your point re brainwashing but wabbit is a military man so it follows that he's more brainwashed than most , brainwashing is all part of the training in the military don't ya know.

Wabbit will never question authority as long as the poor soul lives.

Oh yeah and then there's 9-11 as wabbit mentioned... wakey wakey

Smirking Frat Boy Bush Makes Young Girl Cry

You can take the boy out of the frat, but you can't take the frat out of the boy.
A question for President Bush on immigration rose up like a ghost from the grave this afternoon in Ohio.

Only the questioner was a 13-year old blonde-headed girl, Jessica Hackerd, from Brecksville, Ohio, who immediately broke into tears after making her inquiry.

"Mr. President, I know immigration has been a big problem in the U.S. And what is your next step with the immigration bill?" Jessica asked Mr. Bush, during a question and answer period after a speech Mr. Bush gave to a Cleveland business group.

Mr. Bush's sarcastic reply -- a wry "yeah, thanks" -- drew laughter from the crowd of 400. But the attention caused young Jessica, who characterized herself in an interview afterward as very shy, to immediately tear up.

"No, it's a great question. No, I appreciate that," Mr. Bush said, as he saw Jessica's reaction.

Jessica, in the interview, said that she was crying because she was so nervous.

But when the president's sarcastic answer was mentioned, she said, "I heard that too."

Mr. Bush went on to speak more than 1,100 words about the death of his proposed comprehensive immigration reform, which was a heavy blow when it fell apart last month.

But Jessica, there with her parents and younger sister, continued to wipe tears from her eyes for several minutes, and midway through his answer, Mr. Bush again tried to encourage the distraught youngster without drawing too much attention to her.

"It's a great question by the way, and I'm glad you asked it," Mr. Bush said.

But when the president finished taking questions, an aide immediately went to Jessica and took her backstage.

After Mr. Bush had finished shaking hands for over 10 minutes, he met with Jessica and her family.
And there you have it: winning hearts and minds, one at a time....First, you mock your constituents and subject them to public ridicule.
Then try to make up for it. Works every time.
Stay classy, George!

You have an interesting way of framing things motherfunky.

First, I hope you realize that I don't support President Bush or ANY president or any other political figure or person in a position of power blindly. I will either agree or disagree with their policies and decisions independent of their overall job performance, personality or shortcomings. This is something that I don't see from most of Bush's detractors - they seem to simplisticly oppose any position he takes, spew hateful rhetoric and fail to understand that their own point of view is not the only way to view things.

I will say that I am disappointed with Bush's job performance, but in hindsight it should not be a huge surprise - I did have concerns about his leadership skills prior to voting for him and would have loved to have had a more appealing option. Alas the system we have for selecting candidates does not allow that.

As for wabbit's background - it's irrevelant...we should judge the statements made in his post on their own merits, not those of the messenger.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion here. I claim to be politically ignorant mainly for the fact that I dont trust the media, they can be bought and paid for as cheaply as anyone else. The point is simple, Bush has made mistakes, Clinton made mistakes, hello guess what, Lincoln made some too! Aaaaaaaand ya know what, every jackass that takes over the country from here on out will make mistakes as well. Chances are we will be screwed for the rest of our lives no matter who claims to be president.

Mistakes?

The media can't be bought to change these numbers!

Over 3,700 brave soldiers dead

Over 27,000 brave soldiers wounded

Over 500 amputees

Over 150,000 Iraqi civilians killed

118 have died of self inflicted wounds

54: Percentage of troops killed who were 24 years old or younger

9 out of 10:
Number of disabled veterans who have been made to wait for benefit evaluations longer than the Pentagon’s own standard of 40 days

76:
Percentage of Americans who think the Bush administration has not done enough to care for Iraq war veterans

$633 bil.: Projected cumulative cost of the Iraq war come 2008, figuring in the cost of the escalation

Cost of War - http://www.nationalpriorities.org/Co...-of-War-3.html

There are mistakes and THERE ARE MISTAKES!!!!!!

I say fuck it. Lets just pull out now and leave the entire FUCKING COUNTRY in anarchy, so that when they do form SOMETHING, they cant HATE america ALL the MORE!

As for the statistics on deaths and injuries, I have one thing to say: ITS A MOTHER FUCKING WAR. Lets go back and complain about all the American deaths in the Revolutionary war or the Civil War, or World War I.
