In no way, shape, or form did I mean to make a joke at the expense of the soldiers, nor do I think the Onion writers ever intended to attack the soldiers. This was intended solely as a crack at the US government's spin doctoring to justify everything they do. My apologies if you think I was attacking the guys on the ground.

hahaha nice one, yeah that's the type of spin that is thrown at people. The sad thing is if people were shown that article a lot would actually believe it. Such a shame.
and no I saw it, and your cover statement as a joke and nothing else.
