Another question. Was it "right-thinking people" who killed 12 students at a high school, 32 at a college or eight people in a mall? Now I am not the smartest person in the world but my guess is they went to places they knew there would be as little resistance to them as possible. i.e. places that were "gun-free". I bet that guy did not expect any armed security in the church in Denver.

Seeing as most of these shooting sprees end in a suicide, I don't think that the fear of being shot by security is any deterrent at all.

Also, exactly how terrified do you have to be in your daily life to have to carry a concealed gun just to feel safe? That is just sad. If the police are that bad where you live, then move.

Man, I just realized that people in other parts of the country LOVE guns! Not so much the case in my metropolitan, overeducated, blue state circle of friends. Even my Republican friends think that the existing gun laws are crazy.

I grew up on a farm, and learned to use rifles and shotguns from age five. I used to go wild pig spotlight shooting and rabbit shooting with my dad as kid, so I've been taught to be responsible and sensible with them from a young age. We now have pretty tight gun rules here in Australia too.....but honestly, what difference do gun laws make.....it just makes it harder for law abiding citizens to get one....but the sicko's and the criminals are gonna still get guns by illegal means anyway.....and lets face it, GUNS don't kill people, PEOPLE kill people! And if people have that KILL mentality, they're still gonna kill, whether they have a gun or not

You miss both points. They go to places where they can do as much damage before they take there own lives knowing that chances are there will be almost no, if any, resistance to them. It's also not about police being bad. It's that they cannot be by your side 27/7 to protect you and we do not have a constitutional right to police protection.

Again I ask you, do I not have the right to protect my own life? See because I believe it is my God given right to protect myself. At 5'8" 165 a gun is a great equalizer against say what happened to Zack Sowers, in a coma since June. But then again moving is always the answer. Yep I should let others dictate where I live because they choose to break the law, great.

But I guess only you and your metropolitan, overeducated, blue state circle of friends know what is best.

Make sure you read more about Zach and the fight his wife is going through. Then again I guess it's much more "sad" that one would chose to protect themself aginst such violence by being able to carry.

Her day in court far from satisfying

Guns don't kill people, they just make it a whole fuck of a lot easier to do so. Saying that killers will always find a way to kill so why try even try slowing them down is just giving up on the problem.

Yes, but you don't have the right to be so insanely defensive of your right that it facilitates slap-on-the-wrist gun control laws for ridiculously dangerous weapons.
