I was gonna say... McGovern's a liiiiittle bit late on this one. I lost all hope after November 2004. If the American public was willing to re-elect George Bush after witnessing all of the aforementioned crap, what can you say?

like i said i'm disappointed in Bush...but the rhetoric used by McGovern is part of the reason i couldn't vote for those opposing Bush. it seems standard procedure to use as many inflammatory statements as possible and color every questionable action as clear cut and not a matter of interpretation.

the nasty rhetoric does not help in the course of impartial examination of questionable actions and IMO serves to further the current partisan atmosphere in U.S. politics.

I don't see rhetoric in that letter, just sad truth. George McGovern has proven over a lifetime that he is an honorable, honest, caring American. He has nothing personally to gain by attacking anyone at this point in his life.

This regime's agenda has nothing to do with what is good for America or its people. It is solely interested in further boosting the power and riches of its select, closed constituency, and is perfectly willing to sacrifice any of us to promote that - including the vast majority of Republican voters.

The acts of this administration aren't questionable - they are obvious and blatant: repeated lies and truly criminal acts. How anyone can still be buying their crap is beyond my comprehension.

I think the point is that he was summarizing everything that was handled poorly during his presidency, and yes...that included Katrina and many other items that may be considered "old news".
