Living in fairytale land sounds good, even looks good on paper....but usually gets you nowhere.

He, essentially, removed Egypt from the tension in the Middle East. There had been a history of over 30 years of conflict between them and Israel. It's been thirty years since and no tensions between the two nations. That looks successful to me.

Blaming Carter for sissifying our nation? Dude, there's many things to blame and they happened way before Jimmy Carter came on board. Blame the Woodstock generation. Jimmy Carter didn't name his kid "Star" or Summer" or "Dharma" or "Rain". Blame the rigidity of the family unit of the 50's and early 60's for people wanting to raise their children differently. You make it sound like Jimmy Carter is the reason children wear sneaker and jeans to school instead of leather shoes and pleated pants.
Carter graduated in the top 10% of his class at the US Naval Academy and intended to be a career officer. His policies weren't for everyone but mistaking compassion for "sissification" and blaming it on one person is quite the stretch. Does this mean we blame George Bush for the violence that happens in this country?
Jimmy Carter saw something that apparently the dingleberries in Washington today still can't see: We're effecting our planet and we should take steps to slow the effect. He created the Department of Energy. Such a bad idea that it's still going 30 years later. He separated the Dept of Education into it's own cabinet level position. Most importantly, in my mind, he was able to go four years without invading another country. Something the three Republican Presidents since haven't been able to do.
