TEAM PLAY!!!!

I would like to make a trial run of Team Play in November/December. I will need at least 9 volunteers to be team captains and each team will consist of 3 to 5 players. Once the captains and players are established we will be hosting a live draft via Paltalk to fill the teams.

One of the few things that I did not like about PR team play was that it allowed players to stack their teams with top talent. Having a live player draft will theoretically “spread the wealth” of talent across the nine teams and make for a very fun & competitive series of team events.

Ultimately I would love to get 9 captains and 36 players to fill nine 5 player teams. That may be a little optimistic on my part but we’ll see how it goes. At a minimum we'll need 27 people interested for nine 3 player teams.

Cost for the trial run will be $10 per player + Full Tilt tournament costs ($5 + $0.50). There will be a minimum of 1 event per week for at least 3 weeks. I will speak with the Poker mods about possibly expanding that to two events per week.

More details will follow after the Battle of the Sexes on October 12. Right now I just need names of people who are SERIOUSLY interested in being part of a team. If you also wish to volunteer to be one of the 9 team captains, please add that desire as part of your post.

If I cannot get at least 27 players signed up by Sunday Oct 19 then I will scrap the whole idea.

TENTATIVE plans are as follows:

*IF* we get 36 total players (4 per team) we'll hold games on Wednesdays @ 9 pm and Sundays @ 8 pm for 3 weeks in December beginning Dec 03 as a trial run. This will allow team captains to juggle their 3 players and 1 alternate based on individual player's schedules.

*IF* we get 27 total players (3 per team) we'll hold games on Wednesdays @ 9 pm ONLY for 3 weeks in December beginning Dec 03 as a trial run. There will be no alternates so every team member will need to be available on Wednesday nights.

*IF* we get less than 27 players, no team play.

So far Jen has stepped up to be a team captain. Anyone else? We need 8 more so we can draft the teams. Live draft will be held on PalTalk on Sunday November 30. Time TBD.

Also - I only want people who actually plan to play. Last thing I need is people who continue to sign up for special events then consistently drop out. I'd rather not have team play then to set everything up and have to cancel last minute because some players lack commitment.
